I have recently used Mr. Crowhurst to design an addition in a recent purchase of our home.

I found Mr. Crowhurst very knowledgeable in his area of expertise. He was always very punctual and accommodating; delightful to deal with and I would highly recommend him.

Would absolutely use his services again,

                                                          Crowhurst Design

Crowhurst Design specializes in providing building permit drawings and drafting services for small projects such as additions, renovations, and repairs as well as floor and site plans for building "Change of Use" applications. We provide services in Toronto, the GTA, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Courtice, Bowmanville, Brooklin, and surrounding areas.

With 25 years experience in both commercial and residential construction, we can also assist you with your design. Designer, Gordon Crowhurst is fully qualified as required by the Ontario Building Code. His Building Code Identification Number is 36172. We can also arrange an Architectural Technologist and/or Structural Engineer for your project if they are required.

                                                     Planning Your Project

The first step with your project should be contacting your local building department. Most municipalities have kits and checklists for applying for a building permit. You will get information about permit fees, size and number of drawings required. This is the best source of free information about all areas of construction. It is also a good idea to contact your planning and engineering departments. Arrange for your drawings to be done about 12 weeks prior to the date you want to start construction.

If you have the following available at our first meeting, it will save time and will be reflected in a lower cost for drawings.

Dimensions of all rooms, dimensions and types of all windows, dimensions and types of all doors, existing insulation in exterior walls, existing attic insulation., a current survey, sketches of proposed addition, sketches of your design ideas, furnace type, furnace intake and outlet sizes. Feel free to download the printable checklist.

We provide quality drawings at a reasonable price.

That’s our guarantee.

I am currently working in collaboration with Gordon Crowhurst and we have just completed a project together.

It is my experience that Gordon is a very, conscientious, hardworking and competent person who does his very best for his client.

His drawings are very well done and suit the needs of his clients.

I have no reservation in referring Gordon for work in his specialized field of design, drawings, and permit work for a variety of projects.
